The last three months of 2018 were spent on gardening leave. After shaky start to the year we landed at iris on a permalance gig that lasted until the pandemic arrived in March 2020.
eyewear@8: posters
This glasses maker is the wrong end of Romford, just opposite Lidl. No one had cash to burn in 2019, especially in East London and so these punchy window displays and business cards helped boost business. Created with Martin Casson.
Tui: Summer campaign
We freelanced on Archers and Mazda at Dentsu then spent a bewildering couple of weeks at VMLY&R. We pitched for Glenlivet and threw in ideas for Tui. This solitary print ad is all we had to show for our stay.
Suzuki: Celebrity Gogglebox idents
Just as they had when I was made redundant while on paternity leave in 2008, Iris stepped in again. Dave Jenner and I began freelancing here in early May. Suzuki already sponsored Gogglebox and we used two celebrities, Joey Essex and Debbie McGee to commentate on some Suzukis for the celebrity show.
Barclays + Recycling Technologies: video
Barclays are working with Recycling Technologies to help them create machinery that can recycle previously unrecyclable plastic. They asked us to create a film to tell the story. We chose Luke Marsden to be the presenter as we'd enjoyed his passion on Big Brother.
Suzuki MK Dons: sponsorship
Suzuki sponsors the football team that is located near their UK base of Milton Keynes. Rather than promote themselves, we felt the brand should actively support the team, just like easyJet had done (see 2013). These ads appeared at the ground and in the match programmes.
Streetgleaner: Instagram
Between mid 2019 and the start of the pandemic in 2020 I went litterpicking along my street in London. The best find each week was photographed and instagrammed.
